Tips, Tricks & Tales from the Garden...

Come on in to the garden

Gardening inspires my life and my art.

Life imitates art. Art imitates life.

The garden delights my senses every time I enter it. The colors, textures, sights, smells, and sounds showcase life in its purest form. There is always a story to tell, a vision that captures my eye, a critter or butterfly that inspires me to pull out a sketchbook or paints, my camera if I'm lucky.

My garden is a constant source of joy.

And I love sharing the joy with you.

Come take a look around!

Bear in mind, this is what we started with:

Before

The challenge was to change this playground area into a cottage garden (aka my kind of play ground)."

This is a work in progress with a long term goal, but I truly enjoy watching the transformation and allowing nature to play.

After

Or at least so far! We continue to build and grow in this space, as well as all around the property.

We live on beautiful Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma, which is in garden zone 7b. I have a beautiful garden in which I enjoy soaking up the sun, harvesting fresh herbs and vegetables, picking fresh flowers, and watching the wildlife. My husband enjoys fishing and eating fresh from our yard and lake. My gardening style is mix between permaculature techniques and good ol' experimentation. I plant what I want for flowers, herbs and vegetables and let nature fill in and guide me. We are working on transforming our yard into a certified natural backyard habitat and will share the toil and delights with you.

Whether you are looking to create your own garden or simply take in the tales from mine, I'm happy to share!
